Athletic Trainer
**Job Summary** The Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic training services to athletes, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. This position works collaboratively with team physicians, coaches, and the Sports Medicine Institute to ensure the health and performance of athletes across multiple sports and events. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer engages in community outreach and education to promote Sports Medicine services. **Essential Functions** + Coordinates and assists physicians in conducting pre-season physical examinations for athletic programs, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety standards. + Develops and implements individualized and team-based conditioning programs designed to prevent injuries and enhance athletic performance. + Provides on-site evaluation and treatment for injuries sustained during athletic events and practices, administering first aid and urgent care as needed. + Applies protective devices and equipment, and facilitates referrals to physicians or specialists for advanced care when necessary. + Collaborates with coaches, team physicians, and healthcare professionals to design and execute effective rehabilitation plans for injured athletes, ensuring safe and efficient return to play. + Conducts education sessions for coaches, athletes, and parents on injury prevention, recognition, and management to foster a culture of safety and health awareness. + Maintains detailed and accurate records of athlete evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation progress, ensuring continuity of care and proper documentation for compliance. + Assists the Sports Medicine Director in promoting Sports Medicine services to the surrounding community through outreach programs and events. + Stays current with the latest evidence-based practices in athletic training, maintaining certifications and participating in continuing education opportunities. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or a related field required + 1-3 years of experience in athletic training or a related field required **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and injury prevention strategies. + Proficiency in evaluating athletic injuries and developing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plans. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with athletes, coaches, healthcare professionals, and parents. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure. + Skilled in maintaining detailed and accurate medical records. + Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices related to athletic training and sports medicine. + Strong organizational and time management abilities. **Licenses and Certifications** + AT - Certified Athletic Trainer in state of employment required or + ATC - Athletic Trainer Cert in state of employment required + BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of employment required + Licensure, registration, and/or certification is required in all states. Follow state requirements as applicable.
