This is a flexible full-time position 32-40 hours per week; to work at Crystal Lake Central High School. This position provides athletic training services to the student-athletes at both practices and games.
Evaluates physical conditions and advises and treats athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition by performing the following duties:

Performs assessment of injury or condition and takes appropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper carePrescribes routine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance and improve flexibilityProvide practice, game/event coverage for assigned areaRespond to medical emergencies and provide assessment, stabilization and first aidMake recommendations for athletic participation and return to sport guidelinesComplete accurate documentation of assessment and referralsRefer athletes to physician for continued care per protocolPerform manual techniques and utilize taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve functionCollaborate with sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied health professionalsMay work in a clinic setting with physician or under the direction of a physical therapistEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required
CPR/BLS required within 30 days of hire
BOC certification
Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested
Have/maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth’s HR-01-Fleet Safety policy
