Athletic Trainer Outreach
Provides event coverage and routine visits to his/her school or organization as outlined on the contract. Has the responsibility to evaluate injuries and follow the guidelines set by the National Athletic Trainers Association for the well-being of the party involved. Will also provide event coverage for community events and assist in the clinic when needed following the same responsibilities as the clinical certified athletic trainer.
Provides athletic injury evaluation, immediate care, and assists with the referral of injured athletes in accordance with generally accepted principles of athletic training services; at the school or venue to which they may be assigned. Requests appropriate referrals for other services, if indicated (i.e., orthotics). Provide services as described in the contract or expectations set forth between the Outreach Coordinator or other leadership.
Communicates, cooperates and gives assistance in a prompt and courteous manner to patients, school or organization associates, athletes, co-workers, and medical staff to insure “client satisfaction” with the services of Mercy’s outreach program and other Mercy operations.
Maintains competency by participation in continuing education, in-services and other learning opportunities. Meets standards for all required reviews of competency
Required Minimum Education: 4 year bachelor degree in athletic training
Preferred Education: Graduate degree in athletic training
Licensure: Licensed in Athletic training by the state of Ohio
