A.T. Still University is seeking applications for a non-exempt HVAC Mechanic on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and Plant Operations. General functions of this position include installation, monitoring, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on all ATSU Kirksville campus HVAC and mechanical equipment.
Major Job Duties
Performing routine and emergency repairs, maintenance and annual preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment. Assess and analyze issues with HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment. Monitor computer HVAC system to ensure system is functioning properly and identify issues. Respond to service calls. Perform inventory of filters and belts to ensure they are stocked. Replacement of major components such as condenser coils, evaporator coils, compressors, control components and motors. Adjust manual and actuated dampers for air flow and air balancing needs. Ensure bearings and belts are properly maintained and changed when necessary. Regularly clean condenser and evaporator coils of debris. Perform tasks related to general construction. Install new ductwork. Install new plumbing lines. Assess issues and repair fume hoods. Other duties as assigned.Job Responsibilities
Computerized HVAC Trane software reports, work requests, analytical data from mechanical equipment. Must have a valid drivers license.Education/Experience
Must have or be able to obtain EPA Section 608 Type III or Universal Certification within first year of employment. HVAC heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing and general construction.Skills
Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Knowledgeable of electrical single phase and 3 phase power. Knowledgeable of refrigeration equipment. Knowledge of EPA regulations and code requirements. Ability to operate HVAC computer software. Computer literate.Equipment
