Sanitation Attendant

Overview of the role :

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for the sanitation of the Wet and Dry Packaging rooms, including all the equipment used in the production of cheese. 

Schedule: Monday to Friday - Evening shift

Salary: 24.95$/h

There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $26.25/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Attend scheduled shift regularly and punctually ready to fulfil all duties requiredFocus on customer satisfactionComply with all Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. policies and proceduresComply with all Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P Health and Safety and Food Safety and Quality regulationsReport immediately to Supervisor any/all food safety and quality issues identifiedWear all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)Rinse, wash, and sanitize all equipment and utensils used daily in Wet PackagingSweep and mop floors, wash doors and sink in Dry PackagingRinse and foam the production cooler and feta cooler weeklyClean out Dixie vacuum machines weeklyClean each of the labellers weeklyFoam down the walls and floor in Wet Packaging weeklyDispose of garbage from Wet and Dry PackagingWash and sanitize spice bins weeklyComplete all HACCP/SQF documentation and maintain accuratelyReport any broken equipment to Supervisor/CoordinatorsParticipate in daily mandatory stretching programAdhere to good hand washing practices to ensure food safetyTake a sense of pride in work

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Food/dairy/sanitation/manufacturing experience an assetAccuracy, attention to detail, and good communicational skillsAbility to multitaskAbility to read, write, and perform basic mathTeam player, but also has the ability to work independentlyMotivated individual who always thinks in a positive proactive mannerAcceptable criminal reference check is required

Working Conditions:

Cool environmentDamp/WetVarying temperatures on department floor (18-24°C); Temperature in cooler is approximately 7°CWorking with and around chemicals (PPE provided)Pace can range from moderate to busy depending on demandsOvertime – periodically mandatory Saturdays

Physical Demands:

Lifting equipment (from 5-20 lbs)Bending/twisting/reachingPulling skids of cheese (from 50-658 lbs)Alert and aware at all timesStanding on feet for extended periods of time
