Attending Faculty, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Fellowship

The Attending Faculty position is a full-time employed position in a post-graduation PMHNP training clinic. Attending faculty are responsible to manage a psychiatric care patient panel, supervise learners in the clinical setting, and support problem-based learning, in an outpatient primary care setting. 

Compensation (Pay): $117,374 to $144,355/annually, based on experience.
*Other compensation may include signing bonuses, rural differentials, and relocation reimbursement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Promotes and demonstrates the mission, vision, and Core Values of Peak Vista. Assumes responsibility for the PMHNP Fellowship clinic/program in Medical Director/Program Director’s absence Supports fellows in their professional development. Provides direct and indirect clinical support to the Fellows through: Consultation/Mentorship Direct supervision Prescriptive oversight Prepares and delivers didactic lectures as assigned Participates in the Fellowship evaluation process Provides support with the annual Fellowship QI Project Assist in the design, implementation, and revision of the Fellowship orientation and curriculum Participates in the Fellow interviews, selection, and onboarding process Participates in PMHNP Fellowship recruitment and outreach activities as assigned Represents PMHNP Fellowship at committee meetings as assigned Contributes to scholarly work related to the Fellowship program Assists with the accreditation process Direct patient care: Performs mental status examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical response to medications and health care needs in accordance with guidelines Records physical findings and formulates an assessment and plan based on the patient’s condition Conducts brief therapeutic psychotherapy interventions as needed by patients Prepares and documents a comprehensive patient care plan in the EHR Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as long-term psychotherapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, or ECT Refers patients to other specialty providers or primary care providers for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment as clinically indicated Occasional travel inside and outside of the Colorado Springs area Proficient typing skills and use of Outlook programs Ability to multitask effectively Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments, the management team, medical staff, leadership, and clinical staff Embraces cultural diversity amongst ourselves and our community Responsible for the human, financial, and material resources as well as data and information entrusted to us Strives to deliver the best outcomes and highest quality service Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements Enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience: Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) in nursing preferred, Master's degree (MSN) or equivalent required; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Internet software and Database software. Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record.

Certificates and Licenses: Board Certified PMHNP Unencumbered Colorado RN, APRN (with PMHNP specialty), & Independent RXN License (or eligibility), CPR/BLS
