The primary duties include managing staff attorneys, administrative staff, and representing indigent clients with criminal case(s) in Superior Court. Other duties may include managing staff attorneys, and administrative staff. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. This Assistant Public Defender will be responsible for preparing and presenting cases for trial and entering pleas, conducting legal research, preparing and presenting complex documents, pleading compilation, orders, etc. The candidate selected must demonstrate a mastery of litigation and possess extensive jury trial experience as the lead counsel in felony cases. In addition, the applicant must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. A strong commitment to indigent defense is also required.
