Description Our client is seeking an Attorney/Lawyer in the Insurance industry. You will represent the Company, its affiliated companies, and client ERISA Funds in all facets of federal and state court litigation (primarily collection-related). Prepares various documents and reports for Court, Company Management, and Funds’ Trustees. You will be managing a team of two (2) paralegals who work in above areas. This position is a litigation role with other assignments forthcoming as the new permanent gains additional experience. Role: Attorney Location: White Plains, NY Schedule: Hybrid - 4 days in/1 day remote (Regular 9 to 5) Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 Responsibilities: Draft court documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and demand letters Court appearances and arguments Meetings and negotiations Preparation for and examination of parties and witnesses at depositions Preparation of Trustees’ reports, opinion letters, settlement agreements, meeting minutes, responses to third party and governmental inquiries Coordination with affiliated Companies’ staff and Union staff Supervision of outside local counsel and Funds’ Staff Requirements Requirements: Law degree, admitted in New York State and federal courts. 4 or more years' experience as an attorney. Ability to successfully communicate legal and financial concepts using verbal and written communication skills. Well-developed analytical and advocacy skills, both written and oral. Knowledge of the following is preferred (but not required): ERISA, including withdrawal liability and representation of multi-employer funds Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, discovery and federal court litigation, NYS Civil Practice Law and Rules. Collection practices and procedures. Insurance Law experience in Domestic Relations Orders Computer programs including Westlaw; Court databases (ECF, PACER); Lexis/Nexis/Accurint; Dun & Bradstreet; Word; Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, SharePoint, Teams.
