Agricultural Product Support Representative I at DICKEY-john
Provides direct customer support for DICKEY-john products. Position requires communication with end producers, distributors, dealers, and OEMs by phone, email, or in person concerning equipment problems. Onsite installation or troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems required. Position performs validation testing on newly developed products and communicates findings. Position requires customer interactions via on-site training or trade shows.
What Will You Do?
Provide pre- and post-sales technical and application advice to customer, sales personnel, representatives, and distributors via phone, fax, email, and in person. Perform in-field customer service calls to address customer satisfaction issues. Perform custom installations on new products for field testing. Provide feedback to other internal functions on the performance of DICKEY-john products in the field. Maintain log of incoming customer calls. Follow up with customers to resolve problems. Travel required for shows and promotions, service training, field service and service visits with little or no advance notice. Explain DICKEY-john policies, processes and requirements to customers as required. Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions. Conduct verification and validation testing of products in development. Conduct basic product training sessions for customers and distributors. Represent DICKEY-john at industry trade shows. Perform product demonstrations as required. Assist end-users and channel partners with product selection and provide replacement recommendations for obsolete products. Read, review and proof technical diagrams and manuals as needed. Repair electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
High School Diploma One plus year of experience in agriculture or customer contact related positionsDesired:
A.A.S. in Agriculture, Electronics, or related field
Experience
Required:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and correct electromechanical process problems.Desired:
Direct customer contact or support experience. Practical knowledge of farming practices.
KNOWLEDGE
Required:
Basic knowledge of agricultural equipment, practices, and systems. Basic knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.Desired:
Working understanding of precision agriculture including GPS. Working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in a standard office setting working at a desk or table on a level surface. Air quality and noise levels are within normal limits. Eye protection is usually not required. Under normal conditions, exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and fumes is rare. Individual may be required to work more hours than normally expected during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline requirements. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Work in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expeced Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Up to 25% travel.
