Audio Engineer (12 Month FTC)

The Audio Engineer is responsible for quality control of audio assets, metadata, system, and asset level support for domestic and international users of our asset management systems. Good critical listening skills are essential. The Engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting domestic and international system and supply chain issues. This person must be highly organized with a sharp focus on details. Note that this is not a specific creative mixing or mastering position in the company, although knowledge or experience of these skills is necessary as these kinds of tasks do arise. Previous experience with Immersive Audio formats (e.g. Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio) is desirable.

What you'll do: Detailed audio quality control. Audio asset ingestion into management systems. General help with completing daily work queues as well as large ongoing projects. Clearly communicating issues with assets to the job requestor. Clearly communicating systems issues to the proper support teams. Occasional light editing/mastering of assets if requested.

 AUDIO PROCESSES:

DDP creation/editing. File package creation from a PMCD or a file-based format through software-based tools DSD creation from SACD masters Detailed quality control and quality assurance on PCM / DSD / Immersive audio formats Data entry Migration of assets into the asset management system Clip point identification (first verse, chorus, etc) for ringtones, tiktok, previews etc Metadata and asset level troubleshooting Light Audio Mastering / Editing Audio stem preparation or validation against approved stereo master. Who you are: Must be extremely detail oriented and focused to catch all audio errors Keen to learn and become adept at the role quickly and efficiently. Flexible attitude toward workload and prioritising jobs over others. Those with professional studio assistant experience ideal Experience with DDP, DSD, DVD, and Blu ray - (nice to have) Experience in Customer service preferred - (nice to have) Strong critical listening experience Troubleshooting techniques. Detailed knowledge of digital audio. General knowledge of audio quality attributes. General knowledge of digital compression formats/techniques. General knowledge of legacy sound carriers. General knowledge in the following applications: Audio editors (Sequoia, Sound Forge, Protools), Digital Asset Management Applications and processes, Audio digitization systems, Validation of high resolution audio files, FTP/SFTP (Filezilla, etc), Word, Excel
