Audio Engineer Consultant - Community Hospice

Position Summary:

St. Peter's Community is looking for a per diem Audio Engineer Consultant to join our Community Hospice division.

Key Responsibilities:

Audio Production: Design and produce high-quality music tracks that incorporate heartbeat rhythms, biometric sounds, or other physiological signals as central elements.

Biometric Integration: Work with heartbeat monitors, ECG devices, and other biometric tools to capture, analyze, and translate data into musical components.

Music Composition: Compose original music pieces tailored to specific themes, clients, or therapeutic purposes, utilizing biometric inputs to influence tempo, rhythm, and dynamics.

Technology Collaboration: Collaborate with developers and engineers to integrate biometric data into real-time audio production software and tools.

Therapeutic Soundscapes: Design soundscapes for relaxation, stress relief, or other wellness purposes by syncing music to the rhythm of the listener’s heartbeat or other biological markers.

Project Management: Manage projects involving cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring deliverables meet high standards and deadlines.

Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients, such as healthcare professionals, music therapists, or entertainment producers, to understand their vision and deliver tailored musical experiences.

Must be able to use photocopy, fax, scanner.  Must be able to handle information in a confidential manner.  Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to deal diplomatically with people both in person and on the telephone.Accuracy:  Must be extremely accurate in performing work assignments and be proficient in English language skills.Working Conditions:  Perform activities in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area.  May be subjected to changes in temperature and exposed to dust.  Will be exposed to uncontrolled environmental conditions during driving.Hazards and Risks:  Normally acceptable physical environment with no abnormal hazards or risks.  Normally understood driving risks.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Production, Sound Engineering, Music Composition, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.

Proven experience in music production, sound design, and composition.

Familiarity with biometric technology, biofeedback devices, or physiological data.

Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Pro Tools.

Strong understanding of rhythm, tempo, and dynamics as they relate to biological rhythms.

Creativity and a strong sense of musical innovation.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

Experience with real-time audio synthesis or interactive audio technologies.

Background in music therapy or knowledge of therapeutic sound design.

Familiarity with programming languages like Max/MSP or Pure Data for audio processing.

Knowledge of neuroscience or human physiology related to music perception.

Pay: Starting at $37.50 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
