Audio Systems Integration Engineer

The Audio Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design and development of audio systems and be responsible for complete end-to-end integration of audio components. You will lead system-level design activities and work side by side with various cross-functional teams to support product design, vehicle behaviors definition, prototype bring-up, and validation with a system level focus. You will lead bring-up and validation activities for each vehicle build and be responsible for overall functionality and performance of audio systems throughout product life cycle. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles

B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Five years experience in a similar roleExperience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle electrical architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planningStrong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive conceptsExperience designing and releasing electronic components from concept through productionProven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains Experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive EthernetExperience with creating and executing component and system level test proceduresExperience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA, etc)Experience with Vehicle homologation and vehicle regulationsExcellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAn eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing teamA systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

 

Preferred Requirements:

Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fieldsHands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded softwareExperience with creating and modifying network interface description files is a plus

Lead audio hardware integration by developing, executing, and reporting on integration test plans for hardware components and system features to rapidly retire risk from new designs and provide feedback to development teamsDefine, test, and validate hardware and system requirements for audio components, system functions, and customer featuresLead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of prototype bucks, labcars, and vehiclesCreate hardware and system product specifications for audio components, interface directly with suppliers to lead sourcing design activities and work with suppliers to deliver the components within build planContribute to the development and validation of electrical architecture, perform trade studies to realize efficient design strategies and optimize for costProvide strategy for component delivery working directly with purchasing teamDrive functional safety analyses and decomposition of complex vehicle subsystems, create functional boundary diagrams and system interface specificationsSupport systems integration efforts with interface definition, development, and testing in collaboration with subject matter experts and other cross-functional engineering teamsUtilize internal systems to document part releasesBuild audio system to execute demos and validate overall system performanceAcoustic, electrical, and mechanical measurement system assessment
