Audio Visual Support Technician
Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under the supervision of the Supervisor and/or Lead, this position is responsible for deploying and maintaining audio, video and event lighting systems; audio/video system design, installation and programming. The Audio Visual Support Technician sets up and tears down AV projections. Provides media and equipment support services to include production of video and video discs, when requested. Primary back-up for the AV maintenance technician during heightened operations tempo and need. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Provide audio video design, installation, and programming services to Area Support Group Kuwait. Provide maintenance for installed audio video systems belonging to Kuwait, and or facilities assigned by Area Support Group Kuwait. Provide live event services for ceremonies, concerts and other live events to include: digital audio system setup and operation, live video system setup and operation, event lighting system setup and operation. Maintain all deployable audio and visual systems to manufacturer’s standards. All equipment must be deployable with minimal notice to meet the requirements of Kuwait. Maintain the ability to deploy two event audio systems simultaneously. Maintain the schedule for all events and installations, and de-conflict any scheduling problems if needed. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Must meet requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access Must be capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal. Must have customer service training. Must be to obtain a Kuwait driver’s license with a heavy vehicle endorsement. At a minimum must possess a High School Diploma. Infocom CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification preferred. AMX, ACE-D, ACE-I and ACE-P preferred. Extron AV Associate certification preferred. Clearances: Must have a valid Secret Clearance Experience: 1-2 years customer service experience. 2 or more years of experience in live event production with a specialty in one of the three major disciplines: Audio, Video or Lighting. The ideal candidate will also have 1-3 years of experience in audio / visual system design, installation or programming, with knowledge and practical experience with Closed Circuit Television systems, equipment and software. Skills: Audio-Visual system design, installation, and programming Live audio, video and light mixing Knowledge of power distribution Soldering Audio and video cable termination Audio, video, and lighting system calibration Excellent technical skills with electrical equipment and IT Creative problem-solving ability Organizational skills The ability to work well as part of a team and also on your own initiative The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines A flexible approach for dealing with varied tasks An awareness of electrical safety issues Good communication and customer care skills Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
