Audio Visual Support Technician Sr
Overview ***This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP*** Under the general guidance of the Audio Visual Manager, the Audio Visual Support Technician, Senior will ensure Video Teleconferencing Technicians perform complex trouble-shooting and computer system restoration on USG unique Conferencing and communications equipment. The Audio Visual Support Technician, Senior is responsible for the operation of complex state-of-the-art secure transmissions equipment, to include the management and control of classified materials. Responsible for ensuring the deployment and maintenance of the audio, video and event lighting systems; audio/video system design, installation and programming. This position will be the primary point of contact (POC) for all user generated support issues regarding the AV section. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Oversee all VTC operational and administrative requirements to ensure contractual requirements are met to include participation in external and internal audits. Provide diagnostics and take corrective action on large scale voice/video teleconferencing with secure switch; providing tier one technical support in evaluation of data, repair work of telecommunication equipment, and ancillary components. Operate and provide technical support in the operation of VTC equipment in support of briefings, Presentation and VTC sessions. Handle encryption materials and devices in support of classified VTC sessions. Manage property accountability for Vectrus property assigned to the VTC section. Provide IT support for conference room-based briefings and presentations for a 7 days/week operation. Provide user training to the customer in the operation of VTC equipment to include call initiation, answering and re-dialing. Provide support for the schedule and unscheduled maintenance of VTC equipment including but not limited to DLP and LCD projectors, flat panel displays, IP and ISDN-based VTC systems and associated cameras, and maintain manuals and wiring diagrams. Possess working knowledge of IP and ISDN-based VTC systems, equipment, and the protocols that govern them. Be able apply that knowledge in a logical troubleshooting approach. Assists or conduct physical cable installations for various types of equipment. Ensure that PBX, VTC, and all A/V systems are in compliance with all applicable security regulations and requirements. Provide audio video design, installation, and programming services Provide maintenance for installed audio video systems and/or facilities assigned Provide live event services for ceremonies, concerts and other live events to include: digital audio system setup and operation, live video system setup and operation, event lighting system setup and operation. Maintain the ability to deploy two event audio systems simultaneously. Maintain the schedule for all events and installations, and de-conflict any scheduling problems if needed. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School Diploma Military or civilian telecommunications, electronics, or technical control training. Meets requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access Must possess strong working knowledge of Military and Government telecommunications and electronic principles Must be to obtain a Kuwait driver’s license with a heavy vehicle endorsement. Must have customer service training. Must be to obtain a host nation driver’s license with a heavy vehicle endorsement. Infocom CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification preferred. AMX, ACE-D, ACE-I and ACE-P preferred. Extron AV Associate certification preferred. Clearance: Must have a valid Secret Clearance. Experience: 1-3 Years’ experience with operation and maintenance of VTC Suites. 1-3 Years’ experience with operation and maintenance of PA systems. Skills: Audio-Visual system design, installation, and programming Live audio, video and light mixing Knowledge of power distribution Soldering Audio and video cable termination Audio, video, and lighting system calibration Excellent technical skills with electrical equipment and IT Creative problem-solving ability Organizational skills The ability to work well as part of a team and also on your own initiative The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines A flexible approach for dealing with varied tasks An awareness of electrical safety issues Good communication and customer care skills Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
