Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to provide a wide range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services across the lifespan, including infant hearing screenings, pediatric and adult diagnostic evaluations, auditory brainstem response testing (ABR), cochlear implant candidacy evaluations and mapping (Cochlear Americas), tympanometry, and ototoxic monitoring. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Audiology Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience ----- Sign-on Bonus Up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria. Job Responsibilities: + Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations including air conduction, bone conduction, and speech audiometry to assess hearing function + Perform middle ear analysis (tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing) to evaluate the status of the middle ear system + Administer site-of-lesion testing to help determine the location of auditory dysfunction within the auditory system + Provide ototoxicity monitoring for patients receiving medications known to affect hearing, establishing baseline thresholds and tracking changes over time + Conduct newborn hearing screenings, including in NICU settings, using Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) and/or Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) protocols + Perform Central Auditory Processing (CAP) evaluations to assess how the brain processes auditory information in individuals with suspected auditory processing disorders + Administer and interpret electrophysiological assessments such as ABR, Electrocochleography (ECochG), and Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR) to support diagnostic accuracy + Conduct industrial hearing screenings for individuals in occupational settings to monitor hearing conservation and compliance with regulations + Evaluate candidacy for amplification, perform hearing aid selection and fitting, and provide ongoing programming, counseling, and follow-up care + Offer individual and group counseling for hearing-impaired patients and their families to support communication strategies and psychosocial adjustment + Complete documentation and prepare diagnostic reports with recommendations for rehabilitation, forwarding to referring physicians or programs as required + Maintain compliance with standards from OSHA, JCAHO, and certifying bodies by ensuring accurate medical records, participating in quality assurance programs, and adhering to professional service delivery standards Position QualificationsMinimum Required: + Master’s Degree in Audiology + New York State License or eligibility Preferred: + Previous hospital experience #IND1 ----- Why You’ll Love Working at UHS At United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
