Under the direction of the licensed Doctors of Audiology, Practice Manager, and Clinical Manager and after appropriate training and demonstration of competency, performs duties that are prescribed, directed, and supervised by a certified and/or licensed audiologist. Audiology Assistants are regulated by state regulations and fall under the responsibility of the supervising audiologist who determines the applicable requirements for the assistant in the specific work setting. The role of the Audiology Assistant is to be supportive of the audiologist by performing routine tasks and clinical duties so that the audiologist is available for the more complex evaluative, diagnostic, management, and treatment required by the level of education and training of a licensed audiologist. The role of an assistant leads to an increase in productivity by reducing wait times, enhancing patient satisfaction, and reducing costs by performing those skills that do not require the licensed audiologist.

Overview of Responsibilities
Patient Centered:
greeting and escorting patients, rooming and confirmation of protected health informationinstructing patients in proper use and care of hearing aids and other amplification devicesinstructing patients in proper ear hygieneassisting audiologists in treatment programsassisting audiologists with appointment setup and technical taskspreparing materials for ear impressionsperforming nondiagnostic otoscopypreparing the patient for VNG/ENG or evoked testing (ABR/ ASSR)assisting audiologists in hearing testing of pediatric patientscomplete/finalize all hearing aid fitting appointments with hearing aid orientation for the patient
Hearing Aid Centered:
ordering earmolds and devices, completing device repairs, and manufacturer/lab returnsperforming checks on hearing aids and other amplification devicesperforming troubleshooting and minor repairs to hearing aids, earmolds, and other amplification devicescleaning hearing aids and other amplification devicesmaintaining NOAH database for management of hearing aid patientsinteracting with hearing instrument manufacturers/suppliers regarding status of orders/repairs
Office Related:
performing daily biologic listening checks of equipmentmaintaining inventories of supplies and checking function of equipment maintaining and restocking test and treatment roomsperforming infection control duties within the clinic/serviceScan and file all paperwork for the department daily Education/ExperienceEducation Required: Associates Degree or high school diploma/GED
Experience Preferred: College Degree and 1-2 years' work experience in healthcare related field.
Certifications: American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certified Audiology Assistant (C-AA). Certification is obtained within one year of completion of the Audiology Academy Complete Audiology
Assistant Training Program.
Training: Completion of 20-week in office training (includes 15-week online module-based Audiology Academy Complete Audiology Assistant Training Program). 1000 Clinical patient care hours obtained practically with supervising audiologist.
Schedule Details Day Shift. 40 hours weekly. Monday-Friday 7am-5pm. Travel to satellite office required. What We Offer
