**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Southern Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join our Internal Audit department. This position will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Internal Audit reporting, developing PowerBi dashboards and other tools to monitor real-time metrics for the business and internal reporting. This position may also be responsible for participation in assurance/advisory work and may be asked to contribute to special projects and other internal initiative work. This position requires an intermediate/advanced degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on PowerBi, PowerPoint, and Excel.
**_**This position is in a hybrid work environment (in office/remote). It is expected that the successful candidate will report to the Atlanta office a minimum of 3x per week._**
**MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Work closely with Chief Audit Executive and IA management to determine and develop useful reports and dashboards within PowerBi and other data visualization / data analytic tools
+ Utilize deep and or proven knowledge to collaborate with the business
+ Draft recommendations to be delivered in an advisory/assurance report to the business
+ Maintain current reporting dashboards to enable executive and management insights regarding the current state of audit plan progress and IA performance metrics
+ Assist in the coordination of data for external examinations performed by outside parties or regulatory bodies (external audit or other regulatory bodies)
+ Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices in auditing and advancements in technology that can be leveraged to improve the internal audit function
+ Work on special projects or internal initiatives, as requested
+ Build relationships with peers and audit customers, including all levels of management, and understand how to influence peers and audit customers
+ Understand the importance of using accurate information in decision making and contribute ideas to develop new solutions to problems
**REQUIREMENTS**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business or Business related field (Accounting/Finance/etc), Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent education discipline required
+ Advanced Degree is a plus
+ Job related certification (ex. CPA, CIA, CFE) is required
**Experience:**
+ 2+ years PowerBI or Data Visualization experience is required
+ 5+ years audit experience is required
+ Experience with PowerApps and PowerAutomate is helpful
+ Advanced proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint
+ Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to multi-task multiple projects at once and prioritize work
+ Demonstrated time management skills, work efficiently to meet deadlines, take initiative and assist in setting project objectives
+ Demonstrated ability to independently complete projects with some supervision
