**Job Title: Risk and Compliance Consultant** **Location:** Greater Chicago Area **Company:** Jefferson Wells **Hourly Pay** : $55+ W2 - variable and negotiable per engagement **Job Description:** Jefferson Wells is seeking experienced Risk and Compliance Consultants to join our team in the greater Chicago area. As a key member of our consulting team, you will lead and perform SOX testing, including control evaluations, walkthroughs, and substantive testing. This role requires a strong understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead and perform SOX testing, including control evaluations, walkthroughs, and substantive testing. + Assess and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements. + Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies. + Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings and recommendations. + Collaborate with clients to ensure effective implementation of compliance measures. **Qualifications:** + Strong understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote setting. + CPA, CIA, or CISA certification is preferred but not required. + Proven experience in risk and compliance consulting. + Ability to travel to client sites in and around the greater Chicago area. **Why Jefferson Wells:** + Competitive compensation and benefits package. + Opportunities for professional growth and development. + Collaborative and supportive work environment.
