What this job involves

This role of Audit Director is a pivotal position within the GIA team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GIA, based in the Gurugram office. The Audit Director will play a crucial role in developing and implementing JLL's internal audit strategy, fulfilling its mission, and achieving strategic objectives.

The position involves overseeing the execution of an annual audit plan that provides assurance and strengthens financial, operational, and technology-related internal controls across a wide range of business, financial, compliance, and operational risks. The Audit Director will lead the Gurugram Center of Excellence (CoE) team, supporting global audit engagement execution and driving the creation of best-in-class audit products. This leadership role extends to advancing the skillsets of the audit team, ensuring alignment with IIA standards, and guiding the application of audit methodology.

The ideal candidate will be a financial and operational risk expert with experience in developing internal audit analytics to aid in execution. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to JLL's internal audit function and play a vital role in the company's risk management and operational excellence initiatives.

Hold overall accountability for the planning, development, and execution of annual audit plan, ensuring quality and timeliness of reports and adherence to budget.

Oversee the day-to-day execution of performance, compliance, operational and financial audits in accordance with IIA standards, and management of allocated JLL and co-sourced audit staff.

Contribute to the integration of data-driven decision making into risk assessments, audit planning, and ongoing audit engagements.

Opine on the quality and effectiveness of internal controls, working with at times matrixed and geographically dispersed leadership structure to ascertain maturity of control environment, and identify value added recommendations to strengthen JLLs control posture.

Lead and develop the Gurugram team by hiring talented auditors that produce quality output including coaching the team to provide best-in-class assurance.

Attest that audits performed and documented by the team achieves reasonable assurance standards as prescribed by the COO and adherence to all IIA standards.

Establish and maintain relationships with internal JLL Business leaders across the globe

Leverage data analytics within audit execution for increased efficiency and accuracy of deliverables.

Establish and maintain relationships with internal JLL Business leaders around the globe while upholding the GIA brand in every interaction and serve as ambassador for audit execution.

Proactively provide thought leadership that aligns with IIA Standards and draws from audit profession best practices across the industry.

Responsible for continuous monitoring of Financial and Operational audit findings, starting with initial definition of the management action plan, tracking of milestone completion while in implementation, and ultimately the validation and closure of GIA findings.

Support CAE and COO in the generation of routine audit committee and board reporting, working to streamline and enhance this process.

 

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in financial or operational auditing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

Professional certification such as CPA, CIA or CISA.

Proficiency in relevant auditing software and tools such as Teammate and Auditboard.

Thorough knowledge of IIA Standards.

Experience in commercial real estate a plus, but not required.

Leadership – Must be able to work well with multi-geographical teams and offer guidance and insights that contribute to the strategic direction

Problem Solving – Ability to define, clarify and propose solutions that align to audit methodology

Attention to Detail- Execution of the task-in-hand with accuracy avoiding needless corrections

Intellectual Curiosity- Natural desire to learn new things and independently pursue a stronger understanding of the topic

Personal Courage- Uphold GIA principles of independence and objectivity while identifying when escalation is needed

Effective Communication (verbal and written)- Ability to communicate to stakeholders the role of internal audit and translate audit terminology into digestible language to aide in business adoption.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

5,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00 INR per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
