The Audit Manager position is primarily responsible for the leadership and direction of the MBPS Audit team. This role will be accountable for the completion of different audit engagements including key risk aud6ts, key risk reviews, consulting, investigations, and other special audit projects. The candidate is also expected to manage high quality, professional, and value-adding discussions with stakeholders during the various audit stages (planning, controls evaluation, testing, and reporting).
Position Responsibilities:
Perform the People Manager role which includes hiring and onboarding, capacity and productivity monitoring, coaching, mentoring, one-to-one discussions, performance management, and regular engagement activities.
Establish team credibility and build professional relationships with stakeholders while remaining fully independent.
Plan and lead various types of audits (key risk audits, key risk reviews, AML, SOX) in accordance with existing audit methodology, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements. Audit scope may include MBPS, global functions, Asia, GWAM, and any other segment/function as determined during audit planning.
Evaluate the management of risks and effectiveness of internal controls during audit engagements. Document practical and value-adding recommendations to improve the control environment. Discuss findings with stakeholders and reach agreement.
Required Qualifications:
Around 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in audit
Specialized knowledge in either of the following processes: life insurance operations (claims, underwriting, actuarial, contact center), investments, procurement, billing, payroll, treasury, IT (network, applications, cybersecurity), or transitions management.
Conversant with Anti Money Laundering, Sarbanes Oxley Act, FATCA, and OSFI requirements.
CPA, CA, CIA, CISA designation is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships, manage conflicts, and influence stakeholders and team members.
Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, broad matrix organization while managing workload with aggressive timelines.
Ability to quickly understand business processes, identify risks, and key controls. Innovative thinker with the ability to challenge status quo and continuously recommend action plans to improve control environment.
Experience in working across cultures, multiple geographies and time zones, and interact with different levels of senior leadership
