To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) **What you'll be doing:** The Internal Audit Manager will focus on leading/conducting audits in the areas such as general accounting, regulatory reporting, product control, liquidity management, capital management, and interest rate risk management under the direction of the Internal Audit Director. The Internal Audit Manager develops strong relationships with Finance and Treasury business partners to obtain an understanding of the risks facing the organization and stay close to new developments impacting the business. The Internal Audit Manager will also assist the Audit Director in mentoring and developing the Finance and Treasury Internal Audit team. **How you'll succeed:** + Demonstrate risk and control expertise + Manage and execute complex audit engagements + Ensure audit engagement quality, including adherence to IIA and IA Department policies and procedures + Lead complex, technical areas/issues, including planning, testing and vetting with management + Prepare meaningful, relevant, and well-supported audit reports + Assist with managing the portfolio/engagements, including staffing, scheduling, and coordination with business partners, to ensure timely completion + Develop and cultivate relationships with senior management and other key internal contacts + Manage audit team personnel effectively through coaching and mentoring. Guide department personnel in their careers and providing learning opportunities + Assist in the creation of the annual audit plan in collaboration with Internal Audit Department senior management + Coordinate with regulatory bodies and outside auditors, as necessary + Lead Audit Seniors and Staff with a focus on creating a positive, inclusive work environment **Who you are:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required + Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred + Experience working in an Internal Audit department (or public accounting firm) at a bank or financial institution or at a banking regulatory agency + Strong knowledge of US banking regulations + Experience with Large Foreign Banking Organizations (LFBO) preferred + Experience with auditing or managing liquidity risk, interest rate risk, and capital planning/adequacy processes preferred + 6+ years of relevant, progressive experience + Big 4 or other professional services experience preferred + Ability to work independently in areas of difficult or complex nature + Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage shifting priorities + Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills + Ability to think strategically and provide independent perspective + Exemplify a positive attitude, strong work ethic, team work and professionalism + Ability to travel (5%) + Values matter to you. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
