Job Description
We are seeking a talented AutoCAD Specialist to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a full-time position supporting a US Navy Program requiring extensive AutoCAD support. Our organization specializes in systems integration, marine engineering, design, logistical planning, and maintenance support for both the United States Government and commercial customers. With over 50 years of experience in naval and maritime engineering, we are a privately held small business that values teamwork and precision.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings.Work closely with design originators to prepare drawings or computer models of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring a high degree of precision.Ensure that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.Exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of design intent.Occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.Essential Skills2-3 years of solid experience with AutoCAD Software.Ability to accurately obtain mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, etc.Strong visualization and portrayal of complex design features.Ability to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.Proficiency in interpreting and drafting electrical wiring schematics.Strong communication skills and good PC skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsGraduate of high school, trade school, industrial school, apprenticeship course, or military school with credits in algebra, plane geometry, and drafting.Formal training course in CAD utilizing the latest AutoCAD technology is preferred but not required.AutoCAD certification is preferred but not required.Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance is required.Must be a U.S. citizen.Work Environment
The role is onsite five days a week in a mid-sized company with a smaller office located in the seaport. Our work environment values teamwork with engineers and provides a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00
