Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Drafter to join our team with AUTOCAD experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating schematic design layouts, developing design documents, and coordinating with various departments to ensure timely project completion. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and effective communication with clients and team members.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in a 2-week training program to learn how to store files, design basics, and tie back anchors.Design schematic layouts for buildings and gather client feedback.Develop design development documents, including equipment details and specifications.Coordinate with engineers to obtain stamped production documents.Update project management software with task lists, project finish dates, and reasons for updates.Send client coordination emails to ensure smooth communication and project progress.Attend a 1.5-hour weekly team meeting to discuss forecasting, expectations, and inter-departmental needs.Collaborate with engineering, project coordinating, and operations departments to gather necessary information for project completion.Manage multiple projects in a high-paced environment, ensuring each phase is completed within the designated timeline (3 weeks for schematic design, 3 weeks for design development, and 3 weeks for production).Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a similar role or internship.Familiarity with construction and engineering processes.Knowledge of client coordination and project management.Experience with structural, mechanical, architectural, and commercial drawing.Proficiency in 3D design and conceptualization.Experience with steel frame or wood frame design.Knowledge of project management tools like Smartsheets.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
