Are you an experienced automation professional with a passion for optimizing operations? In this key technical role, you will drive improvements in automation to safety, reliability, and environmental compliance for our Burrard Terminal assets.

Minimum Requirements:

Seven years of industrial automation work experience as an engineer, technologist, or technicianA strong background in both Windows and Unix/Linux operating environmentsA strong background of LAN and WAN technologies, protocols and configurationUnderstanding of cybersecurity considerations in process control systemsFamiliarity with several programming languagesExperience with server virtualizationExperience supporting Honeywell DCSExperience with process control protocols (Modbus, OPC-DA, OPC-UA, MQTT)

Key Accountabilities:

Support all components pertaining to Distributed Control System (DCS) including communications, networking, cyber-security. PHD-Historian, Pi Historian, and LIMS.Initiate and conduct complex assignments requiring modification of established guidelines and proceduresManage day-to-day as well as long term reliability of the DCS system to ensure high data integrity and uptimeVerify and correct DCS configuration on all new and modified installations during our project commissioning phaseProvide recommendations and budgetary numbers for required DCS system upgrades and expansionsLead incident investigations related DCS/Network failuresCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the reliability of our assetsGuide and mentor junior technical team members on SCADA processes and tools

Location & other key details:

You will work out of our office in Burrard Terminal (greater Vancouver)Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours and occasional travel based on business needsProvide on-call support during off hoursThis position is safety sensitiveOur business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
