About this opportunity:
As a key member of Ericsson's Sapper Operational team, the Operations Strategy and Customer Experience Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of BCSS's evolved cloud-native portfolio as well as exploring new ways of building and delivering solutions, including enabling cloud native “as a Service” offerings.
You will be part of our Imagine Possible - a new approach to Operations including ‘Visible Operations’ applying real time Virtual and Augmented realities to provide a wholistic customer experience in a virtual marketplace and enhance internal and customer teams’ ability to troubleshoot using augmented reality.
What you will do:
• Design and develop software applications using Python, SQL, and Go. PERL is helpful too.
• Work with stakeholders to identify, document, and extract requirements for automations.
• Ensure the best cost effective design from a product (or group of products) perspective.
• Promote adequate technology evolution and ensure the consistency of any applications and tools used.
• Focus on getting something working quickly and then iterating towards the final goal rather than coding/designing the whole thing before showing progress. This is the Agile approach which we support and recognize in Sapper.
• Perform application development support activities; Perform application specification analysis and design.
• Support all stages of application lifecycle management; Perform 3rd level applications support.
• Learn about and use Google SRE best practices to ensure applications meet Ericsson standards and needs.
The skills you bring:
• Student working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• No work experience is required, although it may help you stand out over other candidates.
• Familiarity with programming and scripting languages, particularly Python. Other languages could include JavaScript, C and Go.
• Familiarity with REST or SOAP APIs useful.
• Active imagination and drive to learn is required.. You will be an active participant in our constantly evolving journey in machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, with a focus on leveraging these tools to enhance and optimize the Site reliability engineering lifecycle
• Ability to work with different cultures and team members around the world.
