What you'll be doing

The US Data Management Office (US DMO) is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset for CIBC US Region by building out our data and analytics capabilities, developing the US Region data management strategy, automating business processes, and enhancing data governance. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automation and Applied AI Specialist to enable cutting-edge initiatives and drive innovation within our organization. Reporting to the Director, Automation and Applied AI (US Region), you will be a key member of the team. This role requires a self-motivated, highly organized, technically sophisticated, and detail-oriented individual that will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders while maintaining in-depth knowledge of the underlying data, data structures, data sources, and enterprise tools. This position supports the execution of US DMO initiatives specifically related to the automation of business processes and application of AI solutions for our internal clients. You will play a key role in helping the team develop, implement, and oversee automation and applied AI strategies.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days may be remote.

This is a newly-created, hybrid position located in Chicago that requires on-site presence at least two days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays), subject to future change.

How you'll succeed

Strategy Development: Collaborate with key stakeholders to define automation/AI objectives and formulate a strategic roadmap.

Communication: Express technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity. Work directly with end-users to troubleshoot problems and document requests for new functionality

Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy efficient automation/AI solutions that streamline workflows to deliver massive efficiency gains.

Enterprise Skillset Mastery: Microsoft Power Platform, Python, Alteryx, SQL, BI tools, cloud tools (Azure, Google Cloud Platform), and other solutions that become available.

Intelligent Process Automation (IPA): Apply data science and machine learning methodologies to develop IPA solutions that support human decision making and optimize the classification of outputs in various business scenarios.

Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain best practices for automation/AI development.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement: Oversee the entire project lifecycle and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Performance Monitoring: Continuously assess the performance of deployed solutions.

Data Governance: Develop strong governance around the development and ongoing delivery of solutions.

Process Analysis: Analyze and document existing business processes, identifying areas for automation

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and solutions.

Who you are

You can demonstrate experience in. commonly used Automation Tools, Coding Languages, and Business Intelligence tools, such as Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, Power Platform, Python, Cognos, or other similar tools. You’re an established professional with 8+ years of experience working with data (Financial Services experience strongly preferred), including 5+ years of demonstrated RPA experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in presenting solutions concisely and accurately, solving problems proactively, learning and mastering new technologies, and communicating with many different levels of employees across the organization.

You have a degree/diploma in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or have equivalent work experience.

You're fluent in English with proven, strong communication skills, both written and oral.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $112,500 -150,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
