Capture 3D, a ZEISS Company, is a provider of automated 3D Non-Contact Scanning and Inspection solutions. We are actively looking to expand our Farmington Hills, MI, Automation team, with the addition of an experienced Controls Engineer who is comfortable with all aspects of the engineering process ("cradle to grave"). This includes design, PLC programming, installation and maintenance/troubleshooting, etc. Hybrid work environment based on customer engagements, projects, in office activities etc.

Our current ScanBox solutions are based on a Fanuc COTS (Commercial-Off-the-Shelf) configurations provided via GOM ZEISS in Germany. We also utilize our ScanBox as a baseline for custom automation projects as well as customer specified robotic and motion control components when necessary. You will be responsible for integration concepts encompassing additional hardware designs. Be able to write programs necessary to integrate components and functionality into the cell.

Responsibilities:Designing, validating, and integrating automated 3D Scanning and Inspection solutions
Support of required customers Functional Safety requirements
Implement control system designs based on Technical Safety requirements
Troubleshoot system functional and diagnostic issues; determine / validate corrective actions and preventive measures
Follow change control processes to bring issues to resolution
Perform HMI programming experience
Hardware Design, Software Design and electrical control panel design
AutoCAD and or design software experience
Strong background and aptitude in Electro-mechanical systems
Minimum four (4) years experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment
Expertise with control panel troubleshooting, installation, etc
Must have good electrical wiring and debug/troubleshooting experience.
Experienced programmer utilizing Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC.
Experience with HMI’s and machine communication protocols.
Experience in mechanical systems.
Knowledge of metrology integration a plus
Superior abilities in customer relations.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Must be willing and able to travel 15% - 30%
