SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Design, program, and troubleshooting controls systems of semi-automated medical device manufacturing equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

•    Designing and wiring semi-automated equipment electrical systems.  Creating electrical schematic, wiring panel, and debugging system after assembly.  Systems include PLCs, stepper and servo drives/motors, safety relays, light curtains, solenoid valves, and operator interface terminals.  Drafting experience required, 2D AutoCad preferred.

•    Programming and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), stepper and servo motors, safety circuits, and operator terminals.  Must have some PLC programming experience.  Allen Bradley experience preferred. 

•    Receives technical advice from engineers or supervisor for complex problems.

•    Working overtime may be required for this position.

•    Performs other related duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•    Education equivalent to a High School Diploma with five years of previous technician experience, or an Associate's Degree with three years of previous technician experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with one year of experience.
•    Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve moderately complex technical problems.
•    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
•    Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
•    Ability to work well as a team member.
•    Knowledge of various tooling and testing equipment (e.g. electronic multi-meter, oscilloscope).

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs.  Risk category II states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
