Automation/Controls Technician/Installer

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer to support Building Automation System (BAS) installations. This role will involve mounting control components, installing low voltage wiring, performing terminations, conducting system start-ups, and troubleshooting systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with building automation systems, possess a CT E2 or L6 License, and demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality installations and service.

Key Responsibilities: BAS Installation:

 

Mount and install control components, including sensors, thermostats, and controllers, as part of Building Automation System (BAS) installations. Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and perform terminations in accordance with project specifications. System Start-Up and Checkout:

 

Conduct system start-ups, verifying proper functioning and calibration of all components. Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

 

Diagnose and repair issues with BAS components, wiring, and controls. Respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting and system repairs. Collaboration and Communication:

 

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure timely and accurate installations. Communicate with clients and provide status updates on project progress. Compliance and Safety:

 

Ensure installations comply with local codes and regulations, particularly electrical codes. Follow all safety protocols during installations, testing, and troubleshooting. Qualifications: Licensing and Certification:

 

Must hold a valid CT E2 or L6 License. Additional certifications in building automation or electrical systems are a plus. Experience:

 

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS). Experience with low voltage wiring, system start-up, and troubleshooting is essential. Skills:

 

Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and system specifications. Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions effectively. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Attributes:

 

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically capable of handling installation tasks and working in various environments.
