Job Responsibilities

Define, measure, analyze, and improve existing or new manufacturing processes using automation and controls engineering techniques (PLCs, data base management, etc.)Design automated manufacturing and testing equipment for new product development/introduction, capacity growth, and efficiency improvements.

       Responsibilities consist of:

Controls and pneumatic system architecture design and layoutElectrical panel development, design, and layoutAssist in the assembly and qualification of automated manufacturing equipment consisting of:Basic mechanical and pneumatic assembly of automated equipmentElectrical wiring of controls (plc, servo motors, digital/analog input/outputs, HMI, etc.), robotics, and accessories through a list of cables and schematics.Modify cable list and schematics throughout projectCable management and cable termination with welding and pressing tools.Participate in project team activities; team may include manufacturing engineering functions only or cross-functionally to include members from product planning, procurement, quality, operations, industrial engineers, maintenance, and suppliersTroubleshoot, investigate, and resolve current process issues related to tooling, materials, manufacturing processes, and automationContinually improve process capability (Cpk) and process efficiency or OEE of assigned processes while supporting quality, cost, delivery, and safetyImplement lean production principles to create or improve material flowUtilize lean, six sigma, DOE, principles during improvement activitiesDevelop, maintain, and standardize process documentationContinually seek new technology opportunities

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field (Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience3 + years’ experience as an automation engineerBasic experience in implementing industrial automation-based projectsExperience with high-volume automated manufacturing processMust have project planning skills to prioritize tasks and establish framework and systems for managing areas of responsibility.Experience to create Electrical designs, schematics, and drawings in 2D and develop electrical and pneumatic bill of materials.Skills in 3D modeling and 2D drawings (NX & DraftSight preferred)Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancingMust have good written and oral communication skillsAbility to work with Multifunctional teamsEnglish 75% skills required

Preferred Qualifications

Rockwell Automation Software: RSLogix 500, Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (HMI), Servo Motion Controls System as Kinetix Servo Drives, & Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.PLC programming knowledge (Allen Bradley preferred)Experience Programming Vision Systems (cameras & sensors) using Cognex and Keyence Software, Data Matrix/Bar Codes, Spreadsheet, Easy Builder, etc.Industrial robotic and cobot programming knowledge (Fanuc preferred)Robotic simulation experience (Fanuc Robot Guide preferred)Experience with MES systems (Ignition preferred)LabView programming skills or knowledgeMechanical design experienceWorking knowledge of PPAP and statistical process controlUnderstand performing PFMEASociety/Trade Involvement related to assigned process(es)Knowledge of ISO9001/14001 Travel: 15-20%
