Basic Job Functions:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Engineering Lead to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for both team leadership and the successful execution of capital investment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, proven leadership skills, and a track record of delivering complex multimillion dollar projects on time and within budget.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of automation, software, and mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for the team Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages professional growth Oversee all aspects of capital investment projects including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and execution Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, procurement, and external contractors

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or the equivalent combination of education and experience Proven experience in leading teams and managing capital investment projects Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities effectively Travel approximately 25% of the time to visit vendors and to NTS sites in West Hazleton, PA, Decatur, AL, Crawfordsville, IN, and Brigham City, UT Preferred Qualifications: Electrical, mechanical, or software engineering/computer science degree Leadership experience Steel industry experience
