Location Information (Remote):
This remote role supports our Lab Automation group, an ISO 9001 certified organization, in the European region, working closely with the Integration Supervisor based in our Canada office. Our team designs, manufactures, and installs robotic solutions globally, accelerating drug discovery and synthetic biology research for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. How you will make an impact:
As an Automation Integrator you will be part of a team constructing and integrating custom crafted automation systems for the pharma and bio-pharma research industries at some of the most prominent research laboratories in the EMEA region. You will play a key role in the successful completion of projects while upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s high standards for quality.
What you will contribute:
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with multi-functional project teams that include the customer, Project Managers, Automation Specialist, Designers, Software Developments, to plan and implement ETO solutions to achieve the agreed requirementsProvide suggestions and highlight any concerns to the team including Designers and Project ManagersShare feedback to the Operations and R&D teams to help drive and implement continuous improvementsTechnical
Assembly and testing of electromechanical sub-assembliesConstruction of system platforms, safety guarding, and containment enclosuresIntegration of sophisticated laboratory instruments for accurate positioning and establishing of data communicationsProgram movers and multi-axis robots using our company's market leading scheduling software and validate all pick/place positions for smooth, efficient, and repeatable operation of the systemSupport site acceptance testing and promptly help address any deficiencies citedAssist in development of technical solutions to meet the customer’s requirementsHelp defines the job build tasks required to optimally complete the project in a timely mannerIdentify and record changes required to Bills of Materials and Work InstructionsIdentify any part non-conformances and help implement the countermeasuresHow will you get there?
Education:
Technology diploma in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or other related subject areaExperience:
Minimum of 3 years’ proven automation integration or a related field.Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in understanding and following mechanical and electrical drawingsProblem solving and trouble shooting skillsFamiliarity with testing and measuring instrumentsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsProfessional presence both with the customer and internal departmentsStrong organizational, planning, and time management skillsFamiliarity with ERP systems is considered an assetFluent English speaking and writing skills, other languages are considered an asset
