Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Manager with expertise in system engineering and hands-on experience in Cobot, vision systems, hard automation, and AI. The Automation Manager will work closely with engineering teams in SCLA, Austin, Singapore, and Gloucester, driving the development and implementation of automation strategies, processes, and projects. This role requires strong collaboration, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of system engineering principles and automation technologies.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate closely with the engineering teams in SCLA, Austin, Singapore, and Gloucester to understand their specific automation needs and align automation projects accordingly.
2. Lead and manage a team of System Engineers and Design Engineers, providing expert guidance and support to ensure successful execution of automation projects across multiple locations.
3. Develop and implement high-impact automation strategies and initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality within the engineering teams.
4. Plan, design, and implement cutting-edge automation systems, processes, and tools, leveraging hands-on experience in Cobot, vision systems, hard automation, and AI technologies.
5. Seamlessly integrate automation technologies, such as Cobot, vision systems, hard automation, and AI, with the unique requirements of each engineering team.
6. Establish and maintain robust automation frameworks, standards, and best practices, tailored to the system engineering principles and the specific automation technologies being utilized.
7. Monitor and evaluate automation performance, leveraging data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the engineering teams.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in automation, adapting to the specific requirements of each engineering team and the automation technologies being utilized.
9. Provide expert technical support to team members and stakeholders, resolving complex system engineering issues related to Cobot, vision systems, hard automation, and AI, and driving effective problem-solving efforts.
10. Foster strong collaboration between cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, quality, and manufacturing, to seamlessly integrate and successfully implement automation projects across locations.
11. Conduct regular performance evaluations, delivering constructive feedback, and identifying training and development needs for team members.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, EEE, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven track record in managing and leading teams in automation or related fields, with a strong focus on system engineering expertise.
3. Extensive technical knowledge and expertise in system engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
4. Hands-on experience in Cobot programming and implementation, vision systems, hard automation techniques, and AI technologies.
5. Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++, along with experience with advanced automation frameworks and tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, enabling the identification and resolution of complex system engineering issues in a multi-location context.
7. Strong project management skills, including resource allocation, task prioritization, and deadline management.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and engineering teams across locations.
9. Demonstrated leadership abilities, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
10. Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in automation, with a specific emphasis on system engineering and automation technologies.
11. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously across different locations.
