Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Automation Technician or engineer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our automation equipment. This position requires daily interaction with our Automation group and various manufacturing teams to ensure machines operate productively and efficiently. It is a hands-on role involving diverse automation tasks, independent projects, and teamwork.
ResponsibilitiesComplete a combination of level 1 and 2 job duties as assigned.Train, assist, and evaluate lower level technicians.Perform major repairs and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical automation issues.Communicate with project managers, customers, and vendors regarding technical automation requirements.Provide input and critiques on automation systems design.Assist engineers and project managers in creating and running automation qualifications.Make changes or revisions to basic automation designs and update drawings, schematics, and documentation.Assemble quotas for average automation projects such as refurbishments and repairs.Execute low to mid-level project coordination assignments.Anticipate technology training needs to stay current with developments in automation equipment and techniques.Write camera programs from start to finish for automation and mold applications using specified criteria.Assist in debugging or improving existing camera programs for efficiency and functionality.Write and modify programs for 6 axis and SCARA automation robots, as well as complex top entry/mold take out robot programs.Use knowledge of PLCs to connect, diagnose issues, and make alterations to PLC programs.Write basic PLC programs from scratch.Create and modify PMs for automated cells to minimize downtime due to failures.Essential SkillsProficient in PLC troubleshooting, CAD, and instrumentation implementation.Experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement.Knowledge of continuous improvement practices in the medical device industry.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.Additional Skills & QualificationsA college degree (AAS or above) in an automation-related field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.5+ years of experience as a manufacturing technician with high-speed precision manufacturing equipment and inspection systems.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $93000.00/yr.
