Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

As an Automation Pharmacy Technician, you will provide assistance and pharmacy technician knowledge while acting as a liaison between Nurse Managers and the pharmacy department concerning the automated dispensing units (Pyxis).  

A caregiver in this position works rotating shifts from 9:00 a.m. -- 5:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Maintain automated dispensing systems and address questions or concerns regarding the system.  Routinely troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment, drawer failures, medication jams, fail counts, etc.  Assist with coordinating the expansion of Pyxis units across all inpatient nursing units, procedure areas, OR suites and hospital outpatient areas  Assist with installation and training on all new pharmacy automation systems and educating staff.  Responsible for reconciling billing discrepancies between Pyxis system and EPIC.Assess inventory for drug level adjustments.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

A High School Diploma or GEDLicensed Pharmacy Technician in FloridaPharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.  Three years of Pharmacy Technician experience.  Familiarity with Pyxis or BD logistics systems

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, compounding, and IV functions of the job.
