Automation Process Engineer

Position Overview

To oversee automation integration and utilize models for process optimization within an automated manufacturing site of 900 + employees  

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for ensuring seamless integration between material flow systems throughout the site using modeling and simulation trials as well as utilizing lean principles by performing value-stream simulations and analysis. 

Assist with analysis of financial and productivity impact of any proposed changes involving equipment changes/reliability, route changes, process changes/interruptions, and product volume or mix changes to automated material flow process by evaluating change impact with existing simulation models prior to execution.  

Responsible for checking integration of scheduling, production, and automation systems to ensure all systems are working together in the automated material flow process. 

Manage standards tables and other automation process inputs. 

Collaborate and mitigate risk with a team by developing protocol and standard work to ensure continuity of all automation systems with material flow. 

Recommend improvements to internal processes and systems for continuous improvement of material flow. 

Evaluate equipment needs during the scale up of manufacturing and automation processes to ensure a seamless flow. 

Assist with set up of modernization data analytics - process performance, condition monitoring, etc - for the new plant. 

Responsible for failure analysis and diagnostic execution to facilitate corrective action of automation system and/or procedures.

Requirements:  

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Control System, Mechatronics or 4 years’ experience in systems integration with automated equipment/systems. 

Strong technical background, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 

(Data Analytics (Splunk, Tableau, PowerBI, R, Python, etc.) 

Industrial Automation (PLCs, HMIs, Drives, Sensors, etc.) 

Application Development (Any language) 

Application Project Management (Organizing work across multiple groups) 

Database Integration (SQL, Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.) 

Must have good interpersonal skills. 

Must be able to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. 

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
