This is the role

As an Automation Specialist you’re responsible for the implementation of automation tasks. From analysis,selection of hardware and design of software, to programming, configuration, execution, testing, problemsolving and commissioning. A role where you will be busy with technical development at our site in GhentNoord to make sure all Eastman possibilities are utilized and developed.
With your thorough knowledge and detailed understanding of process control systems you will provideleadership in automation related projects. A role where you actively will connect with production, engineering,maintenance, safety, purchasing, IT and with external engineering firms. After all you assure the safety andreliability of installed process control systems.
Next to manufacturing related automation systems you’re also responsible for the installation, configuration,management and maintenance of networks and machines (hardware or virtual) utilizing links between DCSnetworks and the Eastman corporate network. You will cooperate extensively with IT (eg. OPC / PI gateways) tomake sure all works according to plan.
An interesting technical role where no day will be the same and with room to specialize yourself further!
Please note, after training, you will be part of the standby duty.

This is what you bring You are a result oriented technical specialist with excellent communicative and practical skills. You are a teamplayer with initiative, good analytical and trouble-shooting skills. You are a creative thinker and have acontinuous improvement and learning mindset. You are ‘All in for safety’, meaning you apply the highest safety standards. As an Automation Specialist, youhave an eye for detail and strive to work according to the 'first time right' principle. You are able to carry outseveral projects simultaneously. Bachelor's degree in automation, electricity, electronics, electro mechanics or equivalent through experience. ABB 800XA, PCS7, Siemens PLC,  Yokogawa Prosafe, Delta-V,  knowledge or willing to learn. Willing to learn new technologies and embrace the constantly evolving world of automation and IT technologies. Experience with DCS systems is a requirement. Affinity with the ‘IT-side’ of automation (Firewalling, VMWARE, WSUS, Antivirus ...) is a plus, as well as having experience in the (petro) chemical sector / process industry.  Why choose Eastman?
