**Duties & Responsibilities**
• Contribute to R&D discovery research by collaborating with lab scientists to understand their needs and develop automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Independent expert in the lab automation solutions for Biotherapeutics
• Demonstrate clear understanding of research goals and objectives of different project teams and functions
• Write own scripts for end-to-end automation with input from project or technical teams
• Contributes to training colleagues and externals/vendors in area of technical expertise. Maintains understanding of drug discovery process.
• Complies with all applicable regulations and maintains documentation in accordance to best practices, SOPs and policies.
• Contributes to departmental administration; demonstrates cost effectiveness wrt technology, instruments and external partners.
• Interface with lab scientists and other technical departments like IT to design, implement, maintain and ensure seamless integration of automated systems within the laboratory.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automation technologies and industry trends.
**Requirements**
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with ten (10) years’ experience or a Master's degree with six (6) years’ experience.
• Proven experience in laboratory automation, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages used in automation, specifically Tecan, Biomek, and Hamilton.
• Strong understanding of laboratory processes and procedures such as in protein engineering, lead generation, protein expression and purification, analytics biophysics of proteins, etc.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates clear understanding of research goals and objectives of different project teams and functions.
**Eligibility Requirements:**
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
**Compensation Data**
This position offers a base salary typically between $140,000 and $222,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.
