Freese and Nichols has a great entry-level Automation Specialist I opportunity for a recent grad or an upcoming grad in May or August 2025 to launch their professional careers! This role is available in Fort Worth, TX and Orlando, FL.

An electrical engineer is absolutely critical to the successful operation and long-term use of water infrastructure.
Freese and Nichols offers a flexible work environment with options such as a hybrid work schedule with remote work up to 2 days per week and an alternative work schedule with every other Friday off.
In this role, you will work on electrical systems in buildings. You will be a member of a team of engineers and other professionals working on multiple projects. Collaboration is key so good verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities
Develop P&IDs, IO Lists, and requirements for industrial control panels
Develops plans and specifications for I&C projects
Develops testing requirements for hardware and software
Develop simulations for PLC testing
Assists in the development of Technical Memorandums related to I&C projects including, but not limited to
SCADA Master Planning
PLC and HMI Selections
Telemetry Studies
Preliminary Engineering/Design Reports
Ability to troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems
Train clients on the use of hardware and software for their application
Work with vendors, integrators, and the internal I&C team to respond to and resolve SCADA system issues.
QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of computer programming languages
Understanding of computer networks and protocols
Revit or AutoCAD
