Job Description:
The Automation Controls Technician is responsible for daily production support activities and troubleshooting machine controls to maximize production uptime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform instrumentation calibration and repair
Understand manufacturing processes and process control within the Processing Facility in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Install, wire, and troubleshoot VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive), servos, and motor starting devices
Troubleshoot and repair medium complexity systems and equipment
Special projects and assignments as assigned
Perform preventative maintenance procedures
Complete work orders
Respond to equipment downtime events in the Processing Facility and communicate with appropriate resources to assist in resolving the items quickly
Perform Lockout Tagout
Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Automation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Additional duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: N/A
Systems: N/A
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operation
Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Automation, Mechanics and/or other technical related discipline
Electromechanical systems experience
Knowledge of standards and practices commonly used in industrial manufacturing
Knowledge of industrial computing hardware and software
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
Basic math skills
Mechanically inclined
Industrial work experience

Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Push/pull 100 lbs.
Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises
Occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions
Work in a non-climate controlled environment
Climb in and out of a forklift multiple times throughout shift
Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift
Bend over multiple times throughout shift
Ride tricycle throughout facility
