Job Description

Position Summary:

Provide functional support to the Automation department to use technology to improve, streamline and automate manufacturing processes. Implement, repair, and maintain complex automated systems and keep the automated systems running at a high level.

Duties and responsibilities:

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. 

Investigate and assess problems: resolve; debug; troubleshoot; to provide solutions to automated systems, robotic malfunctions, and reliability issuesDetermine and implement corrective actions on equipment and processesEnsure proper safety procedures are always in use and utilized / followedPerform equipment start-ups and shutdowns, modifications, and upgrades on all automation systemsRespond in a timely manner to all issues to ensure productivity and efficiency of automated systemsProvide technical support to improve equipment operations and performanceMaintain all production equipment in good, clean, and functioning conditionApply appropriate preventative maintenance (PM) methods in planned and unplanned maintenance requestsUnderstand and analyze interactions between all components and systems: mechanical, servo, robotic, electrical, etc.Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly fashionUnderstand the operation and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLC), as well as servo drives, vision systems, laser marking systems, etc.Assist in the implementation of new equipment and sub-assembly systemsWork cooperatively with the Manufacturing teamOther projects as assigned by manager

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Lift and move up to 40 pounds without assistanceMust have sharp hearing and ability to discern tones at various levels

Work Environment:

Work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise levels can be moderate to highExposure to oil, oil odor and some sealants such as LoctiteMust be able to wear safety glasses, latex gloves and safety shoes as required

 

QualificationsAssociate degree or Certificate in Mechatronics, Factory Automation, Robotics or similar fields. May have equivalent experience in leu of degreeMinimum two years’ experience working with automated systems, mechanical, electrical and/or robotic technical maintenanceBasic PLC understanding and troubleshooting, Allen Bradley Studio 5000 (preferred), or equivalent ladder logic programmingBasic robotic knowledge, understanding of functions, and programming of Industrial Robots; EPSON (preferred) or similarExperience with 2D and 3D modeling systems; CREO Parametric (preferred), Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCADAbility to communicate with Management, Engineers, and OperatorsDemonstrated technical aptitude and a strong desire for continuous improvement and root cause analysisStrong attention to detailOther responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information

The US hourly salary range for this full-time position is $24- $38. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range during the interview process.
