RESPONSIBILITIES

The Weatherford Software Team at East Leake is a diverse and inclusive group of technically minded individuals developing state of the art software that deals with the full geophysical data lifecycle, from acquisition via hardware, processing, interpretation, and client delivery.  We constantly encourage personal development, learning and innovation in all aspects of the work we undertake advocating exploring and leveraging new technologies for the benefit of the products being developed.

We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Automation Tester to enhance the quality of our applications which deliver geophysical data from rig site to data centres and client offices.  You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated tests.

You will be working closely with a small but quickly expanding department that plays a key role within our global business.  We develop state of the art software that deals with the full geophysical data lifecycle, from acquisition via hardware through to processing and interpretation and finally client delivery.  We are also currently in the process of moving our systems from desktop applications to cloud-based solutions.

In addition to writing automated tests you will have the responsibility, alongside existing DevOps Engineers, for providing Azure DevOps support to the development team.

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to help shape the testing approach within the department.  You will be working on a range of innovative projects using the latest technologies and encouraged to find and leverage new technologies for the benefit of the software being developed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, execute and analyse automated tests for web and desktop applications. Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps release pipelines. Track and report defects Troubleshoot and coordinate bug fixes. Work with the development teams to improve the automation strategy. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop a strong understanding of the testing objectives to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Provide Azure DevOps support to the East Leake development team.

Requirements: 

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in test automation with experience of frameworks such as Selenium or WinAppDriver. Good knowledge of C# or demonstrated experience in similar languages with an eagerness to learn. Must be able to work autonomously and have experience of working independently. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies in automated testing. Experience with Azure DevOps or transferable skills from a similar technology. Proven ability to learn quickly and understand complex subject matter. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent problem-solving skills. Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology would be beneficial.
