We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our mechanical engineering team at the AV Platform department as a key player in the development of next-generation ECU (electrical control unit) for autonomous vehicles.
This key position includes leading the product design throughout all lifecycle stages, from inception to mass production, close interaction with hardware, layout, thermal, quality, V&V, reliability, production and working closely with OEMs, stakeholders and suppliers.What will your job look like? Take full ownership of the mechanical design, from concept, through detailed design and support during Qualification, NPI and MP stagesWork closely with the hardware and layout team to define PCB outline, height limitation, keep outs and integrate the electrical design into the mechanicalPerform DFM, mechanical simulation and stack up/tolerance analysisAnalyze customer requirements and extract all relevant information for the ECU designWork closely with OEMs and tier-1 manufacturersAll you need is: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or higher (or equivalent experience)6+ years in mechanical design in the automotive industrySelf-motivated with a sharp learning curve and able to work independently and as a teammateExcellent hands-on experience with 3D CAD, (for example SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo )Strong background in design of mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing technologies, such as: stamping, die casting, extrusion, and injection moldingHigh awareness for quality and manufacturability, and understanding of statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and GD&T, DFM and FMEAUnderstanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in automotive designStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address technical challenges and optimize designs for performance and manufacturabilityStrong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMobileye changes the way we drive, from preventing accidents to semi and fully autonomous vehicles.
