**Role Summary**
The Automotive Manufacturing MRO/Raw Material Buyer is responsible for procuring products and services required to maintain and optimize the manufacturing operations within an automotive production facility. The role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary for the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Source and purchase supplies, parts, and services based on production and maintenance needs.
+ Establish relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage contracts.
+ Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and equipment to avoid production downtime.
+ Maintain optimal inventory levels for supplies to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
+ Track and control the usage of parts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
+ Implement and manage inventory control systems to monitor and forecast needs.
+ Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery time.
+ Monitor supplier performance and work closely with them to resolve any supply issues or delays.
+ Analyze purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
+ Work with the finance department to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
+ Work collaboratively with the maintenance, production, and engineering teams to understand equipment needs and specifications.
+ Develop strategies to optimize the procurement process and reduce lead times.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to MRO procurement, inventory management, and vendor performance.
+ Maintain proper documentation and records for all purchasing transactions, contracts, and supplier communications.
+ Understand USA logistics and international to assure pipeline of components and spare parts is secure.
+ Good communication skills to escalate shortages within react time.
+ Run reports to visualize creation of POs to maintain pipeline.
**Experience:**
+ High School Diploma required
+ Minimum 5-8 years of experience in procurement or a similar purchasing role within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with inventory management, sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
+ Strong knowledge of products, services, and equipment used in automotive manufacturing.
+ Strong negotiation and communication skills.
+ Ability to analyze purchasing data and make informed decisions.
+ Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office, Excell efficient.
+ Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and related machinery.
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
+ Excellent attention to detail and strong organization skills
+ Must be self-motivated
+ Strong communication skills, time management and data accuracy
+ Understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculations of percentages, measurement conversions).
+ Must be dependable, have good attendance, be punctual, and have a positive attitude
+ Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within the established time frame.
**Human Relations:**
Primary contact for this position will be the Materials Manager. This position receives written and oral instructions from the Materials Manager. This position works under the general direction of the Materials Manager within established guidelines. This position will have interactions with all levels of the organization from Plant leadership to floor personnel.
**Working Conditions:**

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position functions within a plastic injection molding environment. The Cycle Counter must observe safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take in case of problems.
