Purpose:
Performs a variety of general mechanic/maintenance lubrication for all MHE. Ensures equipment is well maintained and in good running order so that optimum production can be obtained.
Essential Functions:
• Lube and perform preventative maintenance service on MHE equipment.
• Maintain a clean working environment around charging system.
• Maintain the necessary stock inventory in watering kits and battery connectors.
• Change batteries to working MHE equipment and place in charging station.
• Other duties as required by management.
Required Experience:
• Experience driving jacks, reach trucks and 3 or 4 wheels sit down.
• 2-3 years’ experience lubing and performing oil changes, and preventative maintenance on MHE equipment.
• 2-3 years’ experience in MHE batteries such as 24 vdc, 36 vdc and their function.
• Knowledge in RTA-CMMS. (Computerize Maintenance Management System).
• Knowledge of proper oil, gear oil and battery watering level and equalizing.
• Must be available to work additional shifts and long hours when needed.
• Must be self-motivated and keep up with the strict preventative maintenance schedule.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
• High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience.
• Certifications in tire & wheel, brakes, and general equipment lubrication.
• Valid CDL.
• Must have own hand tools required for applicable areas (complete journeyman toolbox).
• Good judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Desired Experience:
• Familiar of parts ordering and inventory processes.
• Knowledge of oil and filter inventories and ordering.
• Knowledge in battery changing, battery lubricating and MTC changer (as trained).
Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
