**GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE** **FUNCTION**

**EDUCATION AND/OR** **EXPERIENCE**
An Associate’s degree in teaching discipline with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications or industry specialized training.
Or
Three (3) years of documented work experience directly related to the courses taught with ASE certifications or industry specialized training.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** , include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Teach assigned classes according to Board policies.
Issue to students a course syllabus at the beginning of the semester and objective sheets for each unit of the course during the semester.
Keep classes in session for the full scheduled time.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment in the lab and classroom.
Collaborate with other faculty to efficiently and effectively utilize the Hinds automotive labs.
Remain up-to-date on ASE certifications and technological advances within the industry.
Set aside sufficient time for student conferences, guidance, and tutorial assistance.
Keep prompt, up-to-date, accurate records of attendance, grades, and other reports.
Follow the required institutional process for identifying “no-shows” in a timely manner.
Work a minimum of 35 hours each week on campus during the fall and spring semesters.
