Autotransfusion Technicians operate blood recovery equipment in a perioperative environment and perform blood recovery procedures. **A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 3:30pm with on-call requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Collect and document quality control assays. + Maintain accurate and orderly documentation of procedures performed. + Recognize problems, identify causes and take corrective action with minimal supervision. + Communicate information clearly and professionally to physicians, ancillary personnel and colleagues. + Assist in training. + Participate in maintaining and stocking an adequate inventory of supplies for the work area. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Follow OSHA required procedures for blood handling. + Enhance education through in-services, seminars and certification processes. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Associate's degree. + One year of related technical experience. An additional two years of progressively responsible related experience may substitute the degree requirement.
