The Linden Generation Station is an 800 MW natural gas/butane gas fired combined cycle co-generation plant located at Railroad and Chemical Avenues within the Phillips 66 refinery. The plant consists of five gas turbine generators exhausting into five triple pressure Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s). The HRSG's are connected to a common steam header which supplies steam to three steam turbines and the adjacent refinery.
Opportunity Summary
The Auxiliary Operator (AO) is pivotal in maintaining the power plant's seamless operations, overseeing tasks such as monitoring, water chemistry analysis, and contributing to start-up and shutdown procedures. Their role extends to executing routine inspections, handling hazardous materials responsibly, and ensuring the proper functioning of critical systems. With responsibilities spanning from operational tasks to environmental compliance and safety measures, the Auxiliary Operator plays a key role in the overall efficiency and reliability of the power plant.
Primary Functions
Your scope of responsibility as Auxiliary Operator will include the following primary functions:
Monitor power plant operations and perform routine water chemistry analyses to ensure optimal performance. Assist in the startup and shutdown of power plant systems, contributing to smooth and efficient operations. Conduct routine inspections and perform tasks aligned with the Discharge Prevention, Containment, and Countermeasures (DPCC) Plan, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible handling of hazardous materials and waste. Operate isolated control panels for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), turbines, and generators, including startup and shutdown procedures. Manage major auxiliary equipment, such as air compressors, boiler feedwater treatment systems, and generator cooling systems. Perform operational tests and inspections, making minor repairs and adjustments to maintain proper equipment functionality. Execute orders from the Control Room Operator at isolated panels for clearing equipment or preparing it for service. Adhere to operating instructions and procedures, ensuring all actions are safely tagged, tested, and documented. Maintain detailed logs and provide on-the-job training to assigned personnel. Assist with control room operations as needed. Report any abnormal or irregular conditions during work processes, taking corrective actions within the scope of operational instructions. Support maintenance personnel during unit shutdowns. Participate in maintaining plant operating manuals, technical references, prints, diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.NAES Safe
Safety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. Additionally, employees are required to adhere to all safety warnings and posted safety signs whenever on company property. Furthermore, employees must follow all NAES safety rules and procedures. Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each employee’s performance.
