Instructors are expected to train for six to eight hours per day, developing a unique set of skills to accommodate different learning styles, collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure a consistent training program across the organization. The Instructors are expected to also provide clear, concise, professional, and accurate feedback for the trainees. Our team has developed a strong team culture of safety, professionalism, and personal responsibility; we expect all team members to adhere to team standards of conduct._ _It is important to maintain a high level of professionalism and responsibility when critiquing a new operator’s driving abilities. Instructors are expected to uphold this in all situations_ **Key Responsibilities:** + _Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, both inside and outside of the vehicle._ + _Serve as a technology and learning liaison, fostering effective and professional communication with management, engineers, and members of the public;_ + _Set the tone and example for less experienced Operations Drivers;_ + _Operate with safety as the primary goal;_ + _Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;_ + _Conduct classroom sessions and deliver on-the-job training for new Vehicle Operators, Roadside Assistance, and Depot Teams._ + _Be able to safely orchestrate training for multiple trainees concurrently in a variety of settings such as classroom, in-depot, and in-vehicle._ + _Participate in onboarding of new-hires and navigating them through multiple weeks of training with a positive attitude, setting the tone and example for less experienced employees_ + _Practice a firm yet understanding teaching style to accommodate different learning styles._ + _Assist in creating and maintaining the training programs and its materials._ + _Develop comprehensive expertise in the latest autonomous vehicle system technologies._ + _Standardize and maintain consistent training practices across the organization._ + _Participate in weekly meetings with managers and other peers for training improvement discussions, and daily meetings with peers on shift to discuss trainees’ feedback and performance_ + _Monitor automated driving software systems, compiling changes among different software versions and features, verifying changes on the log._ + _Capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments._ + _Provide rides in the self driving car to the general public._ + _Comply with Transdev’s Autonomous Vehicle Division zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs by self-driving vehicle operators during a shift, including randomized drug testing;_ + _Demonstrate a positive demeanor when training new personnel and be available for at least one-week training assignments._ + _Must be cross-trained to assume responsibilities of all other positions when not engaged in instructional duties._ + _Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, polishing, and interior sanitation to ensure they are in pristine condition._ + _Must be able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as well as overnight shifts and ability to travel up to 30% of the time;_ + _Must be able to flex into other shifts including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as well as overnight, as necessary up to 30% of the time._ + _All other duties as assigned_ **Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):** + _Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets andDocs); and_ + _Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred but not required)._ + _Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;_ + _Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;_ + _Adapt quickly to new and developing technology;_ + _Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation;_ + _Must be able to multitask multiple technologies, including communications devices and vehicle status systems_ + _Excellent written and verbal communication skills;_ + _Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments; and_ + _Leadership skills to supervise classes with large groups of people._ **Physical Requirements:** + **_Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting._** + **_Use hands to finger; handle or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders._** + **_Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl._** + **_Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds._** + **_Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus._** + _Most work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle._ **Pre-Employment Requirements:** + _Must be 21 years old;_ + _All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
