D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Audio/Visual System Integration Design Engineer. The right candidate will beresponsible for all activities related to audio/visual equipment, systems design and documentation, installation and integration as well as troubleshooting and customer support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Systems Design Documentation Communicate with internal clients to understand customer needs and requirements to create a technical scope of work Create detailed equipment budget spreadsheets of project requirements Create detailed technical equipment lists for RFQ's Design detailed technical drawings of equipment mounting, signal flow diagrams, dimensions, system power and network data requirements Develop and oversee installation schedule to provide coordination with other departments, trades and outside vendors Perform client training and documentation of system use Installation and Integration Commission the equipment installation, termination, labeling and document horizontal, backbone and other cables Oversee installation and configuration to ensure conformity to design Perform control system programming Troubleshooting and Customer Support Provide technical support for customer inquiries regarding all aspects of all current or previously installed AV systems Perform diagnosis and resolution of AV hardware and software problems for a variety of end users Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company Aid in the installation of AV equipment in cabinets, furniture, racks, ceilings and walls as required Assist in the dressing and routing of cable through cabinets, furniture, racks, ceilings and other pathways as required Extensive travel is requiredD.R. Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or a Technology discipline Four to seven years of related experience Crestron Master Technology Architect (MTA), CTS-I or CTS-D Knowledge in the design and installation of AV systems, including projection and display; sound and speech reinforcement; distribution and routing; control systems Comprehension of all common AV design drawing types, including audio, video and control flow diagrams, as well as ability to fluently read architectural, mechanical and electrical drawing sets Systems integration experience with equipment manufacturers, such as Crestron, Extron, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and many others Experience with Crestron programming Technical installation and design experience with corporate AV systems in a design/build integrator organization Ability to create and edit designs in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio Experience with various DSP for large and medium training rooms for EQ and AEC Proficient in Crestron diagnostic and programing tools, and common DSP platforms Knowledgeable of the integration of AV systems with corporate networks, corporate servers and telecom Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications Proficiency with MS Office and email Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb ladders, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places and risk of electrical shockPreferred Qualifications
